If you're not a fan of treble dominant speakers, you may want to go with the other version of these by Genius which are more bass intensive. The program makes your tool faster. While I quite like the bright little light that comes on these speakers, others might find it a bit obnoxious. They're great for what they're made for, good sound for a good price. If you're looking for a full sound system with a bumping bass, go ahead and skip right over these.
I know I put this as a pro, but that was considering the size. Not really related to the speakers themselves, but shipping was super fast! I ordered them with 3 day shipping, and the arrived on day 2!Īll in all, first impressions are very nice for these speakers!Ĭons: Volume. When turned on, but input is muted, they are very quiet. At even half volume, they give a full sound. These little speakers give a lot of volume for their size. Rear and front inputs allow easy switching between input devices. The LED light shines bright, and the knobs give a nice amount resistance. The wooden side panels, and gold highlights on the speakers themselves give an excellent visual style.Ĭonstruction is very solid! They're rather heavy for such small speakers, and the materials are solid and very visually appealing. Speakers come with a built in tone knob to adjust bass and treble, so adjustment is as easy as twisting a knob. Lower end is decent without being over or under powered, and mid to upper ends come through clean and crisp. Keep in mind that this is from a couple days of ownership.ĭespite having a relatively low bass power on paper, these speakers get the job done quite well. For the price I paid I'm happy.Ĭ- Single Tone Control (No Treble & Base Adjustments) If you want really audiophile sound spend $300+ and then you will be on point. Get a 2.1 speaker system if base and a full sound is your aim. The sound really fades on heavy base lines when cranked up. Rock, Country, classical all sound good on these speakers, not great, but acceptable.
Any music with heavy base like R&B is going to suck on these speakers. I had to load up an EQ program and once adjusted the sound its satisfactory for the price. I think I paid $55 for mine and with that being said they sound like $55 speakers.
Again shows the cutting of costs in production and with the way they sound, it would have really helped. The blue light is for sure to bright, cover it a small piece of tape. Having no speaker covers also gives it a high quality look. Still the copper colored speakers, wood appearance with black on the face looks cool. They look really cool for PC speakers! The wood finish is a veneer and thus does have some cheap appearance when really eyeballed close. They came very well packaged with lots of protective foam. Pros: I've been into Pro audio for 25 years and have the audiophile ears, so this will be a pretty straight forward review.
